Acetylene

Acetylene is a colourless, non-toxic, mildly anaesthetic fuel gas widely used in oxyfuel applications, such as welding, cutting, soldering/brazing, flame heating, flame straightening, flame spraying and flame cleaning.

Argon

Argon is a colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-toxic gas. Applications for argon often utilize its inert properties for protection against the oxidizing effect of air.

Carbon dioxide

Carbon dioxide is an odourless, colourless and slightly toxic gas with a slightly pungent, acidic taste. It will not burn or support combustion. It is widely used in food processing for cooling, preservation and pH control.

Dry ice

Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide which changes directly from solid into gas and evaporates without leaving a trace used for freezing or cooling the products quickly.

Helium

Helium, being the second lightest element, it is chemically inert, is used for a multitude of applications, as a “light gas” that can lift balloons and airships, as a detector gas to detect the smallest of leaks in pipelines and tanks.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen is an odourless, colourless gas, but flammable gas, which combines readily with oxygen to form water. Due to its properties is set to play a defining role in the third, 'green' industrial revolution.

Nitrogen

Nitrogen is colourless, odourless and tasteless. It is non-flammable, will not support combustion and is not life-supporting. Liquid nitrogen's cooling properties are used to freeze food and other materials, modify metal properties, control reaction temperatures and cool concrete and simulate cold operating conditions.

Oxygen

Oxygen is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas that supports life and combustion. It is widely used in many fields including medical applications, space rockets strong engines, pure oxygen technologies and fuel gases in furnaces, smelters, kilns, welding and metal cutting.

Propane

Propane is a colourless, non-toxic but mildly anaesthetic gas, commonly used for heating, melting, hardening, drying, cutting and soldering/brazing applications.

Food gases

Food grade gases are used as a processing aid and/or additive in order to ensure compliance with “food grade” regulations. Our food grade gas series is called BIOGON®.

Laser gases

Resonator gases are used in gas lasers to generate laser light, process laser gases used in cutting and welding. All gases are included in our LASERLINE program.
